Ingredients

  1. 1 cupchana dal
  2. 2medium tomatoes chopped
  3. 1medium onion chopped
  4. 1/2 tspGinger chopped
  5. 1/2 tspGarlic chopped
  6. 1red dry chillies
  7. 1green chillies chopped
  8. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  9. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  10. 1/2 tspcoriander powder
  11. 1/4 tspgaram masala powder
  12. 1/2 tspcumin powder
  13. 1/4 tspred chilli powder
  14. 2 tbspcoriander leaves chopped
  15. 2 tbspghee
  16. as per tasteSalt

Cooking Instructions

    First if all wash the chana dal and soak for at least 1 hour in water.
    Chop onion,ginger,garlic,tomatoes and green chilli.

    Now heat pressure cooker,put soaked chana dal,1.5 cup water,salt and turmeric powder.put the lid on and cook the dal until 2 whistle is released. Then reduce the heat to low and cook the dal for more 5 minutes. Later turn off the flame and let the pressure release.

    Meanwhile heat a pan add ghee to pan,then cumin seeds, now add chopped onion to the ghee and sauté it till light golden colour,after that add chopped ginger, garlic, chopped tomatoes and green chilli, sauté it till the tomatoes get mushy.

    Then add all dried powder masala to the mixture,mix it well and and sauté till oil separated. Now add this masala to the boiled chana dal mix well bring to boil, then add chopped coriander leaves and cook for more 5 minutes on low flame.

    Before serving we will give tadka to the prepared chana Daal.for this in a small fry pan will add ghee and the put dried red chilli and 1/2 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder,remove from flame and add this tadka to the chana dal.
    Finally yummy and special chana dal tadka is ready to serve.serve it hot with roti,paratha,naan or any rice recipe. Enjoy 😋.
