A quick and easy pickle recipe with just few ingredients . A pickled cucumber is a cucumber that has been pickled in a brine and vinegar and left to ferment for a period of time, by either immersing the cucumbers in an acidic solution or through souring by lacto-fermentation.

Ingredients

  1. 1cucumber
  2. 1 tspsalt
  3. 1 tbspfennel seeds
  4. 1 tspdill herbs
  5. Solution
  6. 1/4 cupwater
  7. 1 cupvinegar
  8. 1/2 tspsalt
  9. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  10. 1/4 tspred chilli powder

Cooking Instructions

    Cut cucumber into thin slices and mix with salt and keep for 5 minutes and then wash off thoroughly

  2. 2

    Boil water, vinegar, salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder for 5 minutes. Boiling your brine (vinegar mixture) will help all the flavors meld better, and that if you add in your pickling subject while the brine is hot, your pickle will be briefly cooked.

    In a glass jar assemble the cucumber slices, fennel seeds, dill herbs and pour the hot brine and vinegar mixture and close the jar.

    For best results: Allow the pickled cucumbers at least 1 night in the fridge before using. It must be stored in the fridge. They will keep well for 2 months
