I often used to make naan at home with all-purpose flour because that's how my kids liked it. But today, I made it with whole wheat flour according to my preference and served it to them without telling. They liked it so much that they said it was even better than usual. When I told them it was made with whole wheat flour, they were surprised that whole wheat naan could be so good. Now, they've requested that I make whole wheat naan from now on. See how my preference has now become the family's favorite.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cupswhole wheat flour
  2. 1/4 cupyogurt
  3. 3 tablespoonsmilk powder
  4. 3 tablespoonsoil
  5. 1 teaspoonpowdered sugar
  6. 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  7. 3/4-1 cupmilk
  8. 1 packetEno fruit salt
  9. 1 teaspoonother ingredients--- nigella seeds
  10. as neededCilantro

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, milk powder, yogurt, salt, sugar, and oil. Mix well.

  2. 2

Add the Eno fruit salt and mix. Gradually add milk while kneading to form a sticky dough. Grease your hands and knead for 3-4 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes.

  3. 3

After 10 minutes, knead the dough again until smooth and make a slightly larger ball. Sprinkle nigella seeds and cilantro on top and gently roll it into an oval shape. (You can also make it round if you prefer.)

  4. 4

Flip the naan and apply water on one side. Place the water-coated side on a hot griddle. The naan will start to puff up in a short time.

  5. 5

Turn the griddle upside down and cook the naan on low-medium flame. Serve with ghee or butter along with lentils or vegetables.

  6. 6

I served it with paneer curry and Mughlai dal. You can make any lentil or vegetable dish of your choice.
