Ingredients

6-8 people
  1. For making tangzhong
  2. 1/3 cupflour
  3. 1/2 cupwater
  4. 1/2 cupmilk
  5. For rising the yeast take
  6. 1 tbspactive dry yeast
  7. 1/2 cupwarm milk
  8. 3 tbspsugar
  9. For the dough
  10. 2 1/2 cupswheat flour
  11. 1 tspSalt
  12. 2-3 tbspbutter
  13. 2 tbspmilk powder
  14. For making a chocho paste
  15. 2 tbspcocoa powder
  16. 2 tbspmilk

    For making tangzhong
    Whisk them together to make a lump free mixture now place this on a flame on low heat and cook till it separates the pan. Keep it aside to cool down completely.

    For rising the yeast take the above-mentioned ingredients add sugar to the milk whisk then add yeast mix and leave aside to rise.

    For the dough
    Mix the dry ingredients very well take half of the prepared slurry of tangzhong and add to the dough and in the other half add 1/4 cup milk and beat it to make a lump free batter. Then add this to the dough mix and add the yeast mixture and knead adding little butter at a time with stretch and fold method for a good 15-16 minutes until it becomes so stretchable that it won't break when you stretch the dough and you can easily see your fingers through it.

    Now make a chocho paste with 2 tbsp cocoa powder and 2 tbsp milk. Divide the dough into 3 equal parts allow the 2 parts to proof in a greased bowl fully covered and in the 3rd part add the chocho paste once combined completely allow this also to proof in a seprate greased bowl. It will take somewhere about 1 and a half hour to 2 hours in winters and 40-45 minutes in summer check on your weather condition.

    Once doubles in size make 2 equal balls of each dough take a white dough and knead it in 1/2 inch thick square now roll the brown dough just half of the size of white dough and place over the white dough from the side of edge and fold it in half now cut it longitudinally and place over the first cut now roll again and then again cut it longitudinally repeat the process 3-4 times or until you get the desired marble design. Now place the dough in a greased baking Tray cover it.

    Allow it to proof for the second time.
    Meanwhile preheat the oven at 180°c for 15 minutes the bread will rise again in 15 minutes then milk wash it and bake it for 30-35 minutes or until done. Once out of the oven leave it in the baking tray for 10 minutes then demould it butter wash it and allow it to completely cool down on a cooling rack. Cut the slices and enjoy with butter, jam, cheese or anything of your preference and taste.
