Rice: soak regular rice for 30 minutes. boil 700ml water in a pot. Add rice, salt and oil in it. Allow it to cook well without covering it. Once the rice is cooked, cover the pot and drain out water from a thin gap, ensuring that the rice does not get out. When 99% water is drained out. Keep the pot aside, covered. The rice will get softer in the steam.

Adzuki Beans and Rice Steamed in a Rice Cooker Adzuki Beans and Rice Steamed in a Rice Cooker
Making it in a rice cooker instead of a pot is easier, so we prepare rice and adzuki beans this way quite often in my house.Step 4: Depending on the adzuki beans you use, the boiling time required may be more or less, so make sure to monitor the beans while boiling.Step 5: If you use a lot of the adzuki boiling water when making the rice, the rice will be colored. Feel free to add more adzuki beans to the dish if you like.Make a lot of boiled adzuki beans, put the beans and the water they were boiled in in separate resealable bags and freeze to have them ready to go next time. Southern Indian Breakfast Crepe: Rice and Bean Adai Southern Indian Breakfast Crepe: Rice and Bean Adai
This is our standard breakfast recipe in our house. My parents eat another kind of Dosa (bean crepe), but it requires a certain type of beans and they are hard to get hold of, so I make this one a lot, since I can make it easily using the ingredients I normally have at home. It's also delicious served with egg omelet, vegetable stir-fry, or potato salad. The batter should not be too runny, and should be a little thicker than pancake batter. Having said that, even if the batter became too runny, it will turn out tasty after pan-frying it thinly. You can use either Basmati rice or Japanese rice. Rice flour may work as well. Sekihan Made in a Rice Cooker Sekihan Made in a Rice Cooker
I made this for my son's okuizome (weaning ceremony)Since I didn't have a large steamer, my mom taught me how to cook sekihan using the rice cooker. It turned out to be great, so I decided to post this recipe for future reference.By exposing the boiled water (that the adzuki beans were boiled in) to air, this will promote oxidization and the red color of the sekihan will be more vibrant. After pouring the boiled water into the rice cooker until it reaches the 3-cup line for okowa, you should still have some leftover boiled water! Instead of adding all of the boiled water to the rice cooker, adjust the amount until it hits the 3-cup line. Recipe by YUKI0611 cookpad.japan -
Delicious and Nutritious Corn and Mixed Grain Rice Delicious and Nutritious Corn and Mixed Grain Rice
Until now, I've always made rice with corn using white rice. But I got some hints from Soratenmama's "Thankful for the Fall Bounty! Sweet Potato and Mixed Grain Rice"and I decided to add mixed grains to my corn rice recipe. At my house, we all sprinkle sesame salt on top, so I use less salt, just a pinch, when cooking the rice. (A pinch of salt seems to bring out the sweetness of the corn). If you want a stronger flavor, you can add 1 teaspoon of salt. The corn cob has a lot of sweetness and flavor, so I cook it with the rice. Recipe by m@n@ cookpad.japan -
Crumbly Fried Rice in a Rice Cooker Crumbly Fried Rice in a Rice Cooker
Restaurant served fried rice is delicious, but it packs 600-800 calories. For the sake of my health, I've been keeping track of calories, so the fried rice in our home is usually seasoned in the rice cooker. This method cuts half the calories and has plenty of volume! I created a recipe that will completely satisfy everyone! The green section of the Japanese leek will give a lovely color to the fried rice, so I recommend using it. You can use Chinese chicken soup stock or Weipa, but Weipa has a lot of oil, so if using it, skip the sesame oil that's added to the rice. You can also use garlic powder instead of roasted garlic!
