Twisted donuts

This is my first time using yeast and the result was quite pleasant. By the time I was done cooking, half of them were missing😳😳. In other words, they are simply divine.
Twisted donuts
This is my first time using yeast and the result was quite pleasant. By the time I was done cooking, half of them were missing😳😳. In other words, they are simply divine.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Remove from the heat and add milk, sugar, and salt. Mix well until everything is well dissolved. Crack the egg into the saucepan and mix well. Add the yeast and stir. Let it sit for 5 minutes. Transfer to a large bowl.
- 2
Add the flour and mix well with a wooden spoon. When everything is well mixed, use your hand to knead the dough for a few minutes, and shape it into a big ball. Cover with plastic wrap. Let the dough rise until it doubles in size, usually about 1 hour to 1½ hours.
- 3
Deflate the gas with your hand and knead the dough for a few minutes until it’s soft and smooth. Cover with plastic wrap again and let it sit for 30 minutes to 1 hour until it doubles in size again.
- 4
Uncover the dough and knead it for a few minutes. Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces.
- 5
Take a piece of dough and roll it out on your working surface so it forms a rope 10 inches long and ½ inch in diameter. If it’s sticky, sprinkle some flour on the working surface. When you roll out the dough, move one hand upward and the other downward so that the rope is twisted in between your hands as you roll it. Take the dough off the surface, hold it aloft, and bring the ends together. Place the twisted dough on a tray and repeat with the rest of the pieces.
- 6
Let the donuts expand for about 30 minutes. 15 minutes in, gently flip each donut over with your hands so the bottoms don’t get flat and all sides expand evenly.
- 7
Heat oil in a deep skillet and deep fry the donuts on medium heat. Cook for about 5 minutes, occasionally gently flipping them over, until they get crunchy outside and are well cooked on the inside.
- 8
Add some sugar and the cinnamon powder to a brown paper bag. Put in the donuts and shake a few times until they are evenly coated. This is best done when the donuts are still warm. Repeat this with all the donuts. Enjoy this labor of love.

Les Bugnes (French Donuts) Les Bugnes (French Donuts)
Let’s discover the world of French pastry one delicious recipe at a time and so far it has been great. The word bugne means "beignet" in French, which means donut in English, but don’t be confused they are not the same. They are an old pastry that existed already in Roman times and were consumed at the time of "caranval" or Mardi Gras & Fat Tuesday, the last day before the 40 days of Lent leading up to Easter. Almost every European country has its own version. I got to know this French version in the Pinterest and use google for translating in to English version with some modification to taste my buds.#mycookbook Lavender -

Glazed Donuts Glazed Donuts
Fresh soft tender donuts, warm , light and so good. They are mot difficult to make. The most important tip is that this recipe should make 12 donuts, so be mindful rolling the dough out, simply roll it to a 1/2 inch thickness, no more otherwise the donuts will not be light and puffy. My first batch I rolled to many and they were skinny and not as wonderfully light as the next batch. fenway -
Sourdough Donuts Filled with Pastry Cream Sourdough Donuts Filled with Pastry Cream
Sourdough donuts filled with pastry cream are a real treat. The dough takes quite a bit of time to prepare, as is typical with anything made using sourdough, but the final result is excellent. Iryna BurlutskayaTranslated from Cookpad Spain -

Baked Doughnuts Baked Doughnuts
These are simply so good and just as delicious as fried doughnuts. This is a keeper for all your doughnut cravings and they go well with pretty much any toppings or stuffings. They do take a while to make as they are yeast doughnuts but they are more than worth it.If using active dry yeast, add to the wet ingredients and let sit for about 10 minutes before adding to the dry ingredients. Also, I made these in the evening so excuse me for the bad camera quality.
