Onondaga Salt Potatoes, a.k.a as Syracuse Salt Potatoes
Back in the 1870's Onondaga lake area, the county, produced 2.5 million bushels of fine salt annually. It provided 90% of the nations salt. It also produced the first salt potatoes. Irish and German immigrants flocked to this area for employment. A staple for food at the time was potatoes. So the salt workers would toss in potatoes into the salt kettles and cooked them. Taking them out they found out they were delicious.Afterwards the pubs caught on, so they served salt potatoes with their pints adding in butter. Thus the legendary salt potatoes of Lake Onondaga was born. This is the short version of a true story. The origin, place is approximately there since it would come up with Onondaga Lake, New York.

A Nagoya Speciality Misen-Style Taiwanese Ramen
I love Taiwanese ramen noodles. My husband and I used to go to Taiwanese ramen restaurants before our son was born, but it's hard to take our baby out to restaurants. Finally I tried to make my own. I've almost achieved the taste I was looking for after the second try. I can live without going to restaurants if I can eat this dish at home. The key is keeping the crispiness of the Chinese chives. They were almost raw at a restaurant. Recipe by Tomomidon

Shallow-fry Breaded Fish
As a student whose family is not always home for dinner, i would have to cook/buy food on my own. When theres food at home, it would be good for me as i would be able to whip up dishes myself. If not, i would have to buy my own ingredients and cook dinner. So i came up with this recipe. The fish was 4$ for 600grams as it was bought frozen. I used panko breadcrumbs which was 3$ for a packet of about 5 cups. Everything else in the dish was either very cheap, or a staple at home. For this dish, i spent less than $10, and it comfortably fed me, my cousin and 3 friends. My original recipe was for 4, but i halved it here.
