Round French Toast Made with Bread Crust Round French Toast Made with Bread Crust
This is a recipe for French toast made with bread crust. I always make these when I accumulate leftover crust, since sandwich bread is expensive. My mother used to make this for me when I was a child, and now, it's my children's favorite breakfast. When flipping it over, it is better to use a spatula, but since it is made from crust, it may crumble. I first transfer it to a plate, then flip it over into the pan. For 4 servings. Recipe by Nayuho cookpad.japan -
Fluffy Butter Honey Bread in a Rice Cooker Fluffy Butter Honey Bread in a Rice Cooker
I learned from recipes on Cookpad that you can actually bake bread in a rice cooker, so I made this mildly sweet honey bread. This recipe is even easier if you use pancake mix, but I wanted to make mine slightly more authentic.Note for Step 3: To reduce the number of utensils to wash, I usually knead the dough in the bowl. I also cover my hands with plastic gloves (that I bought at a ¥100 store) to keep them clean when kneading. Recipe by Ichigo ichigo cookpad.japan -
Microwaved Bread Pudding for One Microwaved Bread Pudding for One
When I felt like having some bread pudding while alone, I impulsively came up with this recipe while using a previous microwaved custard pudding recipe that I liked as a reference. I used 1 mug + 1 spoon to make it simple. To prevent it from overflowing, fill the cup with bread only up to about 90% of the way. While microwaving, keep your eye on it. If it seems like it is going to gush out, stop heating it. Let it rest and then heat it up again. The cooking time will differ depending on your microwave, so adjust accordingly. Recipe by Punopuno. Yields enough for 1 mug, about 300 ml. cookpad.japan -
Big Cheese Bread Full of Cheese Big Cheese Bread Full of Cheese
There was something like this at a local bakery that sells tasty bread, and I just figured it would be nice to be able to make it at home since it was so delicious. After rising, spray it or brush it with milk when putting the cheese on top so that it doesn't fall off easily. Salt Rising Bread Salt Rising Bread
Been loving this bread for nearly 60 years. My grandkids call it "stinky-feet bread" because when the loaves are baking, or you're toasting slices (we like it best toasted!), it smells like stinky feet. Toasted slices are very crunchy on the outside, and moist and chewy on the inside. DELICIOUS!!!!! NOT easy to make, but well worth the effort! Our home town bakery used to make this once a week, and throughout the 1950s and 60s my dad was always first in line to buy half a dozen loaves. These days the only way you're likely to experience this delicious bread is to bake it yourself. Maggie Conlon -

Bread Pudding Bread Pudding
Bread pudding. Every good cook should make it once, and then maybe just move on. It's been done to death and in every horrible form imaginable. But, it's a forgiving introduction to custard, and if you do it right, it's pretty tasty. Ryan Goodwin
