Cooking Instructions

Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Greese the pans.

Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time and beat vigorously until each is incorporated. Mix in vanilla.

In a separate bowl, make a paste of the remaining 2 tbsp of cocoa and the food colouring. Blend into the butter.

Sift together the remaining dry ingredients. Alternating 2 batches each. Add dry ingredients and whole milk to rhe butter mixture. In the last of milk, mix in the vinegar before adding to the butter.mix until well blended

Divide the butter among 3 pans and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes

Cool in a cooling rack completly.

To assemble, remove 1 cake from its pan and place it flat side down on a serving platter. Drop about 1 cup of icing onto the cake and using a flat spatula, spread evenly over the top of first layer. Use the remaining frosting to cover the top and sides of the cake.
