Cooking Instructions
- 1
Put the sugar, coffee and water together in a bowl and beat until very stiff and light in color. Then divide this into two and keep one aside for decorating the cake.
- 2
To the remaining, add the powdered sugar and vegetable oil then mix it well
- 3
Pour in the butter milk and mix well then add the flour and baking soda. Mix to get a smooth runny mixture.
- 4
Line a 6 inch round pan with parchment paper or you can use a non stick frying pan (use a brush to oil the pan). Pour it into the pan and bake in a pre heated oven for 12 to 15 minutes on low setting.
- 5
Get some chocolate and melt it using the double boiler method. When it melts, add the reserved coffee and mix it properly. Use this to cover the top of your cake. In case your chocolate siezes, just add a teaspoon of milk and it shd be fine. The chocolate will sieze if the heat used to melt it was too much so instead of placing it directly in another pot of boiling water. The bottom bowl shd just have very hot water and the top bowl shd not sit directly on it. The steam is enough to melt it.

Best Chocolate Cake Ever-Trust Me! Best Chocolate Cake Ever-Trust Me!
I woke up with a crave attack and was in need of a moist chocolate cake. Up until then, I had never made one from scratch before so I started scouring the Internet and I came across this one. I tweaked it just a bit (instead of espresso powder, I used instant coffee and I added it to the water to dissolve). You will never need another chocolate cake recipe after trying this one. My husband is not a chocolate cake fan but he loves this one! wilce7713 -
