My fiance loves this soup! He got the recipe from his mom and asked me to make it. Now its one of my favorites, too! You can add carrots, celery, tomatoes, or whatever veggies you like to it. Its great on a cold winter day.

This soup was always my favorite when I was a child. As I grew up, my grandma gave me the recipe, but she used a product called soup starter for most of it I found. I wanted a more scratch soup with basic ingredients. I think I nailed it! Now its my son's favorite soup too!

Before my father died, he taught me a thing or 2 about cooking. He was brilliant in the kitchen and always made some amazing dishes. This is vegetable soup he made but we called it garbage can soup lol we always had a great time making it and in between the steps, we would play games or just talk.
