Ingredients

Serves 3-4 servings
  1. 1whole wheat oval loaf
  2. as neededCheese sticks,
  3. 1 teaspoonchopped green onions
  4. 2 sliceschopped bacon
  5. 1 tablespoonbutter
  6. 2 tablespoonsminced garlic
  7. 1 pinchdried parsley
  8. Salt, to taste
  9. Black pepper, to taste

    Cut the whole wheat bread in a crisscross pattern. Soften the butter at room temperature, then mix in the minced garlic, chopped green onions, salt, and black pepper. Spread this mixture evenly into the cuts of the bread. Cut the cheese slices into strips and place them in the cuts, with any remaining cheese on top.

    Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and place it over the fire to bake. If using an oven, bake at 350°F (180°C) for 20 minutes. Remove the foil, sprinkle with chopped bacon, and bake until the top is golden brown. Enjoy!
