Ewa-Agonyin and its sauce/stew ("mashed bean")

This protein dish is a popular meal that has taken over the Nigeria streets. Its originators are the Togolese. I was inspired by Chef DPK (@Da-Princess Kitchen Culinary) recipe to give this dish a try(on her recipe there were lots of optional ingredients so it was economical and quick to fix...lol) and I was not disappointed by the outcome. The aroma from the sauce was similar from what we get from those Agonyin women that sold the mashed bean.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook bean until soft and tender.
- 2
Use a wooden spatula and mash the bean to form a mashy and thick result
- 3
For the stew: Blend the peppers coarsely. In a sauce pan add 2 cooking spoon of palm oil, allow the oil to heat up a bit then add in the chopped onions, stir.
- 4
Add the pepper, crayfish, dry flaked fish. Stir continuously till you achieve dry and black NOT burnt sauce/stew.
- 5
Don't forget to taste for salt and correct when necessary. Viola!! the sauce/stew is ready for the bean.

Kalderetang Kambing is stewed goat meat in spicy tomato and liver sauce. Kaldereta or caldereta is also a method of cooking which means to stew meat in a large cauldron (caldera in Spanish) or pot. The dish is believed to have originated from Ilocos, a province in the Northern Philippines where dishes made with goat (kalding in Ilocano dialect) meat are widely prepared. Asianne Cuisine -
Veggie Stew with just Carrots & Peas in Tomato Sauce Veggie Stew with just Carrots & Peas in Tomato Sauce
Hello everyone…hoping the weekend was a good one. It’s Monday, the beginning of a new week and hopefully a good one for everybody. This weekend was quite warm. sunny and just lovely to be outside. When I mean outside I just sat in the garden and caught up on some reading material on food blogging of course, and some other things that I needed to catch up on. I did a bit of gardening 🙂 and I just wanted to thank Luda from Plants and Beyond, for her advise in regards to adding coffee grinds into my small garden it was spot on! 🙂 All my herbs and salads flourished these past weeks, and we were able to have home grown lettuce in our salads!! hooraayyyy 🙂 Just fantastic!! I also planted Broccoli, this has become huge I am not sure if my little garden will be able to hold it. 🙂This is a Greek dish…with ingredients that I am hoping would exist in everyones fridge. I know that Carrots and Peas may not be the first choice for lunch or dinner, but if you add tomatoes and a bit of tomato paste well I am sure you will be going back for more. 🙂 It is truly a very simple recipe just a few steps and you’ve got a delicious and healthy meal for lunch or dinner or even a side dish.. 🙂 Foodzesty -

Stew boneless chicken breast with 3 cups sauce Stew boneless chicken breast with 3 cups sauce
This name of the stew boneless chicken breast with 3 cups sauce arouses my curiosity. 🤔Omg! Forget to add basil leaves into the stewed chicken is a must and make this dish very unique in taste and smell. 😭This sauce is perfectly balanced and the basil makes the chicken irresistible. But I fall in “love at first taste” without basil leaves. 😍 Springsmile Hor -

This is a rich stew with juicy tendons that goes well with rice. You might feel the taste is a bit weak right after Step 4, but the flavor will concentrate as you boil it down. Stir gently as to not crush the daikon. If you're not using a pressure cooker, boil for 40 minutes. For 4 people. Recipe by LaLaHappy1 cookpad.japan -

Stir-Fried Bean Sprouts and Pork with Fish Sauce Stir-Fried Bean Sprouts and Pork with Fish Sauce
Whenever it's really hot, I don't feel like cooking, so I thought up a recipe I could make in a jiffy to re-energize my body.I had a lot of fish sauce left over, so I used it to flavor this. The exotic fragrance encourages your appetite. The key is to stir fry the pork until it's crispy and slightly browned! To enjoy the crispy texture of the bean sprouts, stir fry it quickly over high heat. As time passes moisture starts to come out of bean sprouts, so I recommend eating this right away.I like to add a lot of black pepper at the end. For 2 servings. Recipe by yaburie cookpad.japan -

I had some leftover bean sprouts, so I came up with a recipe I could make fairly quickly... It was cold out, so I tried it with a thick sauce.Bean sprouts are great because they're nice and crispy and can be prepared very quickly! I wrote "one bag" for the bean sprouts, but you can use 200g or 250g--whichever you prefer. For serving 2. Recipe by Maa-a cookpad.japan -

Chicken with pineapple sauce Chicken with pineapple sauce
I was partway through cooking this dish when my wife came up and said, 'oh, you're making chicken hamonado.' I was actually whipping something up off the top of my head so, of course, I had to look it up right away. Turns out chicken hamonado is a Filipino recipe for chicken in pineapple sauce. It was a little weird to get this revelation from my wife, who's the non-Filipino in the family. She explained that she knew the dish because the Filipino ladies from her church used to bring it to potlucks. My version deviates quite a bit from the theirs. In fact, it probably owes more to a certain British chef -- I Jamie Oliver'd the dish by adding chili and mint. Delicious. Robert Gonzal
