So so so good. You can use vanilla instead of almond but the almond really highlights the browned butter flavor.

I wanted to make chocolate icing but most recipes use cocoa powder which I didn't have. So I tried it with a spare bar of chocolate I had sitting around. Turned out fluffy and delicious. The vanilla icing tastes like French vanilla ice cream. First attempts successful!

I grew up loving butter pecan ice cream and it’s still my favorite, so when I first baked this cake I knew I would fall in love! Something about the cream cheese icing and buttery nutty flavor together is the perfect combo!

This great icing is light and fluffy, and not all gorpey like a traditional buttercream. If you eat it right away, it will be a bit grainy from the sugar, but I like it that way. You can also freeze a cake frosted with this, and by the time it thaws, the grains will have smoothed out nicely.
