Ingredients

  1. For khichadi
  2. 1 cupmoong chilka dal
  3. 2 cuprice
  4. 5-6 cupswater
  5. as per tasteSalt
  6. as per tasteRed chilli powder
  7. 1 tbsp cumin seed
  8. 2 tbsp ghee
  9. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  10. 1/2 tbsp sambhar masala
  11. For buttermilk
  12. 3 cupcurd
  13. 1.5 cupwater
  14. as per tasteSalt
  15. As neededSome freshly chopped mint leaves
  16. As requiredSome freshly chopped coriander leaves
  17. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  18. As requiredSmall inch of ginger
  19. 2-3black pepper

Cooking Instructions

    In press cooker add 2 tbps of ghee, and then add cumin seeds and saute for 30 seconds.

    Now add washed moong chilka dal and rice with 5-6 cups of water, garam masala, sambhar masala, salt,red chilli powder and close the lid.

    Let it cook at medium flame and have 6 whistles. Your moong chilka dal khichadi is ready to serve.

    For buttermilk add curd, chopped coriander and mint leaves, pinch of salt, ginger, cumin seeds, black pepper, water in mixer jar and blend it nicely. You can add more water as per buttermilk consistency you want.

    Moong chilka khichadi is ready to serve with buttermilk
