Dense Caramel Banana Bread

I made this while testing caramel recipe.
If you mix in some apples or raisins and then top with rum after it's done baking, you can turn banana cake into the perfect tea time snack. This time, I added some dried fig to the batter. Recipe by Pekopuku
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preparation: Peel the banana and chop it up. If it's not ripe, microwave until softened.
- 2
Mix together the egg and sugar in a bowl. If you use a hand mixer, it mixes up nicely.
- 3
Add the caramel syrup, yogurt, and cinnamon and mix together. Add 2/3 of the banana and mix.
- 4
Sift the dry ingredients and fold into the dough (don't knead). Fold in the remaining banana.
- 5
Pour the batter into the cake pan and bake at 180℃ for 25-30 minutes. When a toothpick or skewer inserted in the center comes out clean, it is done.
- 6
Let the cake cool in the pan. Once cooled, remove from the pan and wrap with plastic. It's even more moist and flavorful the next day.
- 7
※ For the caramel syrup, refer to. You could use honey as well.

My first recipe on here was a chocolate walnut banana bread. I've made that several times now and wanted to try something different. I altered my original recipe to make this one and this is by far the BEST so far! It was so moist and full of banana flavor. The salted caramel and chocolate morsels were perfect in it. I usually double this recipe, making 1 loaf and 1 batch of muffins. The recipe is very versatile. You can add more banana if you'd like to increase the banana flavor. I have also made it with add-ins (choc. chips, dried cranberries, chopped walnuts). Stir in after flour. cmckay75 -

This banana bread is absolutely amazing! The pineapple sounds heavy but you can actually barely taste it and it makes the bread incredibly moist. Try it you'll see. Rachel Leigh -

Banana Bread Banana Bread
When I was young, my grandma used to always bake banana bread for us, and we'd eat a slice for breakfast every morning before school. Now that I'm older, I've found myself frequenting coffee shops in the morning, searching for the sweet smell of fresh baked banana bread. On most day, a slice is not difficult to find, but every once in a while, my go to spot sells out before I can reach it. For those days, I've started baking my own.Banana bread is very simple to make, and this recipe is very straightforward, though I've added my own twist by baking the bananas with sugar first to add a little caramelization and bring out the banana's aroma.Hope you enjoy! kev.link
