Soft Stir Fried and Simmered Sweet Onion and Pork

I always make this when sweet onions are in season. I learned this recipe from my mother, and I still make it.
A lot of moisture comes out of the sweet onions, so don't put any water in.
If there isn't enough soy sauce, add a little bit at the end.
I like to add a lot of shichimi togarashi (chili pepper mix powder) or ichimi togarashi (chili pepper powder).
The sweet onions reduce in volume, so you'll want to use at least 2. Recipe by rie-tin

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cut the pork into 3 cm pieces. Cut the onions in half lengthwise, then slice horizontally against the grain into 1 cm thick slices. (The onions are sweeter if they are cut this way.)
- 2
Heat up a frying pan and add a little oil. Stir fry the garlic, then add the pork, then the onions. Put on a lid and steam over medium-low heat.
- 3
Simmer while stirring occasionally. When the onion is very soft, add the soy sauce and simmer some more. (Take the lid off from this point.)
- 4
When the moisture in the pan has reduced and the flavors have been absorbed, it's done. Transfer to serving plates, top with lots of shichimi spice and enjoy.

Sweet & Savory Shiitake Mushroom, Green Pepper, and Pork Belly Stir-fry Sweet & Savory Shiitake Mushroom, Green Pepper, and Pork Belly Stir-fry
This recipe originated from the "Sweet & Salty Green Pepper Stir-fry" recipe which I used to make for my children's lunch all the time. Then one day, I thought that they didn't have enough meat in their lunch, so I added pork belly and the flavor became so much better! Then I decided to add shiitake mushrooms in order to increase the volume and the nutrition content, and because they go well with a sweet & savory stir-fry.Steps 3-4: As the liquid decreases, it may start to burn, so adjust the heat accordingly.Rather than waiting until the liquid evaporates completely, it's best to stop the heat once it becomes slightly thickened.I use an induction stove top. Sweet and Sour Pork with Cabbage Stir-Fry Sweet and Sour Pork with Cabbage Stir-Fry
Usually, when we think of sweet and sour dishes, we think of sweet and sour ribs, fish, tofu, or chicken legs, but it's not common to use sweet and sour sauce for stir-fried vegetables. However, it's actually quite delicious! If you have kids at home, you can skip the chili. The sweet cabbage and tender pork slices with the tangy sauce make it a great dish to serve with rice, and kids might even ask for an extra bowl of rice! 😆Feel free to join Syukitchen's fan page to explore more recipes together👇 www.facebook.com/syukitchen 小毓の饗樂廚房Translated from Cookpad Taiwan
