Ingredients

  1. 1 cupmoth matki (sprouts)
  2. 1/4 tspturmeric
  3. 1/2 tspsalt
  4. 1 cupwater
  5. for masala paste:
  6. 2 tspoil
  7. 2 inchginger
  8. 1onion diced
  9. 4-5 clovegarlic
  10. 2tomato
  11. 1/4 cupdry coconut
  12. 3-4 tbspwater
  13. other ingredients:
  14. 3 tbspoil
  15. 1 tspmustard
  16. 1 tspjeera / cumin
  17. leavesfew curry
  18. 1 tspkashmiri red chilli pwoder
  19. 2 tbspkanda lasun masala
  20. 1 tspcoriander powder
  21. 1 tspgaram masala
  22. Salt as per taste
  23. 2 cupswater
  24. 1chopped onion
  25. for serving
  26. 2 cupfarsan / mixture
  27. 1/2onion (finely chopped)
  28. 2 tbspcoriander leaves (finely chopped)
  29. 1lemon
  30. Bread slice/pav

Cooking Instructions

    In a kadai add oil as it heats add onion saute it turns pink colour then add garlic, ginger, tomato and dry coconut mix them all together cook this for 5-10min till tomato gets soften. Cool this mixture and grind it into fine paste.

    Meanwhile in a cooker add washed matki, salt, turmeric powder and water cook it for 2whistle then turn off the gas.

    Now in a large kadai heat 3 tbsp oil add mustard seeds let it splutter then add jeera and few curry leaves. Now add chopped onion as it turns pink colour then add also add kanda lasun masala, chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala. saute on low flame till spices turn aromatic.

    Now add in prepared masala paste and saute well. cook till the oil is released from masala paste. add in cooked matki, add salt also add 5 cup water and adjust consistency. cover and boil for 10 minutes or till misal is cooked completely.

    Once the misal is cooked, oil starts to float indicating misal is ready. in a serving plate, take matki usal add some farsan over it. top with chopped onions and coriander leaves over it also pour gravy from sides. finally, serve misal with pav/ bread and lemon wedges.
