Easy Pudding (No Need for Heavy Cream )

Steaming is such a pain… so I wanted to make a pudding that you just have to add gelatin to, and cool and set in the fridge.

Be sure not to allow the gelatin or milk to boil. It will weaken the gelatin's ability to set, and if the milk gets too hot, the eggs will cook and it'll go wrong... If you substitute 100 ml of the 250 ml of milk with heavy cream, you'll have a smoother pudding. Recipe by Kurumi mama

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 250 mlMilk
  2. 2 tbspSugar
  3. 1Egg yolk
  4. 5 gramsGelatin
  5. 1Vanilla extract
  6. 1Caramel sauce

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Place the gelatin and about 30 ml of water (not included in the ingredients) in a heat-proof dish, and microwave at 800 W for 30 seconds to dissolve the gelatin.

  2. 2

Pour the milk and sugar into a pot, and set over low heat. Warm while mixing until the sugar dissolves.

  3. 3

Remove the pot from the heat, then add the gelatin and as much vanilla as you like (I used no less than 5 drops), and mix well.

  4. 4

Beat the egg yolk in a separate bowl, add the mixture from Step 3 little by little, and mix to incorporate.

  5. 5

Strain the pudding mixture, and it is complete. Pour it into the containers, and cool and set in the fridge. You can add some caramel sauce on top if you like.
