Ingredients

  1. For the kofta:
  2. 1.1 lbsground beef (500 grams)
  3. 1medium onion, finely chopped
  4. Salt and black pepper
  5. 1 teaspoonseven spice blend
  6. 1/4 cupbreadcrumbs (about 25 grams)
  7. 1 teaspoonminced garlic
  8. For the recipe:
  9. 3onions, sliced into thin wedges
  10. 1/2 tablespoonsugar
  11. 1bouillon cube
  12. Salt and black pepper
  13. 1 teaspoonflour

Cooking Instructions

    In a large bowl, combine all the kofta ingredients and mix well until you have a firm, uniform mixture. Shape into equal-sized balls.

    In a skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons ghee or clarified butter and heat until hot. Add the kofta balls and cook, turning, until browned on all sides.

    Remove the kofta balls and, in the same skillet, add the sliced onions and sugar. Stir to combine.

    Cook until the onions turn golden, then add the flour and stir briefly.

    Add salt, black pepper, and the bouillon cube, then pour in 1 cup hot water (about 240 ml) and stir.
