Quick! Easy! Foolproof! How to Toast and Peel Tomatoes

Maybe I'm not organized enough, but I can never peel tomatoes properly using the blanching method. So I thought up this way of subjecting tomatoes to a "burning at the stake" punishment .

Make sure that the flames reach every part of the skin properly! If you don't, you may end up with some patches that won't peel off.
When the skin makes a "pop!" sound, I become unreasonably happy.
Please be sure to use a fork with a handle that doesn't transmit heat. Otherwise you'll burn yourself! Recipe by Radorin

Ingredients

  1. 1to peel Tomatoes

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Wash the tomato and wipe off any water on the surface completely. Stick a fork with a handle that doesn't get hot into the stem end.

  2. 2

Using the highest heat possible on your cooktop, move the tomato around so that the flames hit every part of it evenly.

  3. 3

The inside of the skin will start to make bubbling noises. If you keep exposing the tomato to the flames, the skin will burst open with a pop!

  4. 4

All the tomatoes have been flamed! Only the surface is hot, so they'll cool down right away after being flamed. Then just peel off the skin easily.
