Bistek
One of my favorite and super easy Filipino dish
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Mix kalamansi or lemon juice, soy sauce, knorr seasoning, bay leaf, pepper corn and thinly sliced beef. Marinade for at least 30mins the longer the better
- 2
Heat oil, sauté garlic, diced onion and beef. Sauté well before adding the liquid marinade and 1 cup water. Let it simmer to lowest temperature. Cover with lid. Set timer for minimum 30mins.
- 3
When meat is tender, top with sweet onion rings. Taste if you need to add salt or pepper to your liking, serve warm with white rice. We like to keep the sweet onion rings half cook it has a certain taste and crunch.

Pork Chop Bistek Pork Chop Bistek
"Bistek" or "Bistec" is a Filipino/Spanish loan word derived from the English "beef steak" and is generally made with beef sirloin marinated in soy sauce and calamansi/lemon juice. This is one well known variation, which is still called "bistek" despite being made with pork chops. Normally the dish includes red onion rings as garnish but I have omitted them as usual. 🇵🇭🐖 蛟龍Stormwyrm -

Pinoy Bistek (beefsteak) Recipe Pinoy Bistek (beefsteak) Recipe
This is a very simple recipe of pinoy bistek as we call it in tagalog or beefsteak in English. This dish does not require much ingredients. If you are looking for a fast and easy recipe of beef then this is the right one for you. This is how I cooked it and I hope you also try this at home and I'm sure you will gonna love it. I love my bistek with lots of onion ring. BTW make sure you beef is thinly sliced so it is easy to be cooked and the more you marinate it in soy sauce with lemon juice the more it become more tastier ;). Serve it with rice and off to go! michelle -
