Fight Summer Fatigue with Homemade Pickles
I do this to store my homegrown vegetables for a while.I love pickles, so once I start eating, I can't stop. They're great for bento!Consume within 3 days-1 week of making them. You could try just pickling the cherry tomatoes, since kids love them. The taste is rather bold, so adjust it to your liking! Sammie's Fried Pickles
Most people I know of in the south make this recipe by soaking the pickles in buttermilk before dredging. That method takes out the bite of the dill pickles and makes them not so sour. So if youre not real fond of pickles but want to try this recipe, that would be the way to go.I used a homeade beer batter that flufs up a bit when you cook them and tastes really light and airy for being fried. However you choose to make these, this southern staple is a must have for pickle lovers! :-)

Dates Pickled in Orange Juice
I saw a recipe in a dessert cookbook from overseas which used dates pickled in orange juice, so I bought some orange juice and tried to make it. Dates pickled in brandy or rum are often used in pound cakes, but dates pickled in orange juice are unusual, so I wrote up the recipe. The dates will dissolve if you leave them to soak for too long, so only leave them for a day or two. I recommend you only make the amount you want to eat! Recipe by Uchidenokozuchi

Canning Homemade Dill Pickles
This recipe is simple and tastes so good. You can make hamburger style pickles, whole pickles, or spears. This recipe is a brine that can be used for all shapes of pickles! Change it up a bit with different kinds of ingredients to your liking. I will be using garlic, pepper corn, and dill weed for this recipe. Canned pickles will have a shelf life of a couple of years. There's nothing more satisfying than canning veggies straight out of your garden. Enjoy, and please like and follow for future recipes from DeDee!

Real Pickle Slushy

Fried Pickles with honey mustard dipping sauce
#deepfried#indvswi#indvswDeep fried pickles are an addictive finger food perfect for any get together you’re hosting whether it’s game night, movie night or cocktails with friends. If you’ve never tried deep fried pickles, it’s time to try these out for yourself. They probably do sound a little odd to those of you that have never thought of frying a pickle and I’ll admit that I was skeptical at first too. But let me tell you with their crispy, salty outside and tangy inside these little devils are down right addictive and would vanish from the plate in seconds.Note- A 'pickle' as is called in USA and Canada, is a cucumber that had been pickled in brine, vinegar, or other solutions and left to ferment for a period of time. In this recipe, I have used Dill pickles.

Dill Pickle Pasta Salad
Who doesn’t love dill?? I do and so does everyone who eats this dish, even the one’s who say they’re not big dill fans. It’s tasty, savory, and refreshing and also very easy. The most time will be boiling the pasta and then waiting for a little bit while the flavors meld in the refrigerator. #mycookbook

Mustard Pickles / Piccalilli
I have been using this recipe for a long time. It is very easy to adjust to your own taste and you can use any vegies you prefer. This amount here makes about 3 pint jars of pickle. Good for cheese and crackers, sandwhich spread and goes great with corned beef. In this recipe I used cauliflower, zucchini, red and green pepper/capsicum, celery and onion.

Chicken Drumettes Stewed in Tomato Juice
My younger sister made this for me and so I reinterpreted her recipe a bit. When using tomato juice containing salt, you don't need to add any for seasoning.Although it's troublesome, I recommend taking the extra effort to brown the surface of the chicken to tone down the odor of the meat. Boiled Peanuts
Boiled peanuts can be found almost any convenience store or fruit stand here in Florida. Usually they have cooked for a couple of days in a 30 gallon pot on a open fire with wood. Or cooked in crockpots in convenience stores.

Instant pot boiled Cajun Peanuts
Found recipes on YouTube and made some changes... I will never buy canned peanuts again lol. Wow these turned out amazing 😉 and so easy and way cheaper to just make them.... use lots of salt if you like salty peanuts lol and lots of seasoning. I used two lbs of peanuts and half the bottle of that seasoning and lots of salt, for my heat add some hot sauce, and cut jalapeños to them ...

Southern Boiled Peanuts
I tried boiled peanuts for the first time about 15 years ago. I was living in Spartanburg, S.C. and the woman I was dating at the time talked me into trying them. I got hooked and have been making my own ever since. Over the years I have tweaked my recipe to what it is today.

Cajun Boiled Peanuts (Instant Pot or Pressure Cooker)
After buying many many cans of boiled peanuts and “doctoring” them up, I decided to give it a shot from scratch. And we have a winner! It’s does take a full day or an overnight but they are definitely worth it. Give it a shot!

Boiled Peanuts 🥜
These are delicious! Boil up a batch, eat some, freeze the rest for later. These are great for fall cookouts! Throw some venison sausage & hamburgers on the grill, boil up some peanuts, have some homemade ice cream! Have some friends over. Perfect!

Salted boiled peanuts
Another southern favorite. People including my self can make a meal out of boiled peanuts. These could be done in a crock pot. We used to get 2-3 quarts of peanuts for our trip to the beach. Love them so much! I hope you enjoy them when you try them, and make wonderful memories!

Cajun Boiled Peanuts
A very good friend of mine back home taught me how to make these. It might seem like a lot of spice but it has to simmer for 6 hours and penetrate the peanut shell 😋 #peanuts #cajun #boiled

Addictive Cajun Boiled Peanuts

Cajun boiled peanuts
I grew up and still eat boiled peanuts! Don't eat the shells unless the are very tender. These were such a treat growing up. The whole family sharing about 2-3 quarts on a trip to the beach. So many great memories, truly a great comfort food! I hope you enjoy them when you try them!

Slow Cooker Jerk Chicken
For me, jerk chicken was a delicious treat that I only had at a restaurant. I never thought that I would make it for myself or if it would be any good. For our honeymoon, my wife and I went to Jamaica. Dang, the jerk chicken was amazing there, along with all of the other food we had down there. I did not want to leave. While walking along the beach there one day, we ran into the chef of the amazing jerk chicken that we had. He was such a nice guy. Taking the chance, I asked for the recipe. All he did was smile. That night at dinner, he came out to our table, handed us a piece of paper, and then returned to the kitchen.Somehow, we scored the recipe. I tried it once, before we got the slow cooker. It was good, but not as good as his. We did not have any scotch bonnet peppers, so we did not have that great taste. I used to make my own jerk spice blend, from the recipe that he gave us. It is amazing on pizza. Try it one day. For this recipe, I included the blend that he gave us.This go around, I cheated and used a store bought jerk spice blend. I do not have the time right now to make it on my own. But once I do, I will. You betchum! I went online to see how I could convert this recipe to a slow cooker. It was not that hard. This will go great with anything, especially coconut rice and peas.Enjoy!

Quick Boiled Soybeans in a Pressure Cooker
I'm really hooked on cooking with soybeans, but it's a pain to have to soak them the day before. So, I came up with this method! For black soybeans, simply simmer them, I was able to boil them without soaking first, but for regular soybeans, if they aren't soaked, they will not turn out well. I experimented with many methods and came up with this.In order to keep the beans plump, store them in the boiled water in the fridge,If you are going to freeze stock them, freeze them without the soup. Just put them in a Ziploc bag, store them flat, then remove only the amount needed. Recipe by Nakamurayukako

Slow Cooker Spicy Fruit and Nut Chicken Pilaf
Fruity, spicy & nutty (Bit like me!!, wife says one out of three ain't bad...)

Slow Cooker Red Beans
I'm a big fan of slow cooker meals that you can walk away from and come back to at the end of the day. This is not one of them. To do this correctly, you have to monitor your progress, but you're going to love the results.

Cajun and beer boiled peanuts 🥜
I was talking to a coworker about making Cajun Blaine’s peanuts and he added that I should try adding beer to it! So I did!

Slow Cooker Johnny Soup
What do you do when Peapod sends Cannellini Beans instead of Split Peas? Make Johnny Soup instead. I was skeptical at first, but once I smelled the aromas from the slow cooker I was hooked. For this soup, we used leftover ham, but you can use a ham steak, ham hock, etc. You can also use stock or broth, but just plain water was really good. It is up to you. This is basically the same recipe as my Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup, which is really good. It is all good, but I really love the carrots in it. There is just something so good about carrots from the slow cooker.Good luck during those 8 hours that it is cooking. I wanted to eat asap, but I had to wait. It was so good, that even my fussy son liked it. And he does not like soup.Enjoy!
