Ingredients

  1. 5 cupsugar
  2. 1 stickbutter
  3. 1 canevaporated milk (12 oz.)
  4. 2 cuppeanut butter
  5. 1 tspvanilla extract

Cooking Instructions

    Combine sugar, butter and evaporated milk in a medium sauce pan and bring to a slight boil. Reduce heat to low. Maintain at soft ball stage (234-240°F) and cook for 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Don't exceed 240°F

    Remove from heat. Add peanut butter and vanilla extract

    Blend until mixture is smooth and creamy. Don't over work or it gets grainy.

    Pour into a greased 1/4 sheet tray, and let cool.

    Note: For chocolate fudge , use 2 (6 oz.) packages chocolate bits ( semisweet). Melt chocolate in a double boiler and maintain until sugar mixture is ready. You can also ad 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts or peanuts to mix.
