Simple loaf of bread Simple loaf of bread
So here’s a simple loaf of bread I made at the weekend, and my favorite topping for this, toasted. I have never been a baker, and this is my first real attempt at baking in five years- the previous attempt were some scones that had the dense mass of a newly formed black hole. So rest assured, if I am able to do this, literally anybody can. There’s something so much more satisfying about taking chunks off of a loaf made with your own hands. Every egg and bacon sandwich tastes like victory. And your home will smell lovely. Yes it takes about three hours. But about two and a half of those are spent doing nothing, so it’s not so hard. Bread Loaf Bread Loaf
I checked lots of books for the recipe and tried several things. I was looking for the right ratio of ingredients for the bread pan I bought, and this was it.☆When making the dough, go by the appearance of the dough, rather than the time, to decide how long to let it rise.☆If you don't have graham flour or rye flour, use 400g of strong bread flour. Square Bread Loaf (Bread Maker Dough) Square Bread Loaf (Bread Maker Dough)
*I made this simple since its heartiness and flavor will vary depending on what you put on top of it or what you serve with it.*When you are using flour that's milled from domesticaly grown wheat, use slightly less water.*The temperature and baking time are just suggestions since they will differ depending on the oven. If the surface is getting burnt, cover with aluminium foil, and turn down the temperature.*When you are turning the pan during Step ⑦, do it quickly so that the inside temperature of the oven won't drop.
