Ingredients

3 servings
  1. 1/2 lbbacon (1lb pkg bacon cut directly in half)
  2. 1butter, softened..
  3. 6 slicewhite bread
  4. 1grape jelly or jam (amount depends on you)

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

please don't knock it until you tried it! my great grandparents started the tradition.. i'm here to share it.

  2. 2

cut your package of bacon directly in half so you have half slices.

  3. 3

fry bacon according to directions. we like it best for the toasty's when bacon is very crisp but not to hard where you can't bite it... lol.

  4. 4

meanwhile take your bread and place in toaster and toast to desired doneness. to light though.the bead is still soft and itll get soggy

  5. 5

spread a small amount of butter on each piece of toast on one side.

  6. 6

spread desired amount of grape jelly on top of the toast. I like only a little but put as much as you like.

  7. 7

now place 4-5 slices of bacon on top of half the jellied toast

  8. 8

place other halfs on top of bacon jelly side down.

  9. 9

serve alone or with eggs or pancakes or both...

  10. 10

makes about 3 bacon toasty's. I've tried this with other flavor jelly but it just doesn't taste as good.

  11. 11

instead of bread you could also do fresh hot biscuits!

people shouldn't knock this, this has been good for ages. if you don't like jelly or bacon, then no, you won't like it.
