Ingredients

  1. 1large yellow onion
  2. 1/4 cupsweet red wine
  3. 1/4 cupbeef stock
  4. 1 tbspvegetable oil
  5. 1 tspsalt
  6. 1 tspground black pepper
  7. 1 tbspgranulated sugar (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Heat skillet on medium heat.

    Cut onion into slices.

  3. 3

    Mix onion slices oil salt and pepper in a bowl.

  4. 4

    Put onion mixture into hot skillet.

  5. 5

    Cook until soft and translucent.

  6. 6

    Add red wine and beef stock to deglaze pan. Cook until almost dry.

    Add sugar and stir and cook until dissolved.
