Ingredients

1 hour 10 mim
  1. 1 CupSugar
  2. 1 CupWater
  3. 1 1/2 CupRhubarb Chopped
  4. 3/4 CupStrawberry Quartered
  5. 1 1/2 tspLemon Juice
  6. Soda Water
  7. 1 1/2once Vodka
  8. 1Strawberry for Garnish

Cooking Instructions

    In a medium pot put all your sugar and all the water in. Bring this mixture to a slow boil until all the sugar is dissolved. This is making a simple syrup.

    Next add your rhubarb and strawberries and bring this to a boil. Releasing all the natural oils into the syrup. Remove from heat and let simmer for an hour.

    Strain out the rhubarb syrup and disscard the remains. Add 1 1/2 tbsp of lemon juice and stir the mixture.

    In a highball glass add 1 1/2 once vodka over ice. Next add 1 once of your mixture and 3 onces of sparkling water. And enjoy this early summer drink.

I have always loved cooking. At a young age my love for this art began as I watched my grandmother cook and prepare meals for everyone in the house. I'm told she was the first female certified chef in ontario. From there, it was a culinary adventure every sunday in my house as i watched, and helped my parents make most of our meals that day.
