Fried Squid

Mary @MayLeeCooks
It was like biting into a cloud... so be sure to not over fry it. Quick and fast! Great with white wine!
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Crack egg and break yolk. Add squid rings and tentacles.
- 2
In a plastic shopping bag, add flour and seasoned salt- however you like
- 3
Add squid to flour and shake. Making sure each ring is covered.
- 4
Add oil half way up the pot. And once you think oil is ready add a bit of the flour. If you see tiny bubble the oil is ready. If oil is too hot, add more oil to cool down existing oil.
- 5
Fry until golden brown and place on paper towels. Enjoy with sweet chili sauce.

Squid Tonpei Yaki - Pan-fried Squid Fritters
This was my ex's specialty back when we were living together. lol. It was so good I decided to recreate it and I still eat it all the time. I didn't know what it was called so I went with "Tonpei Yaki."For salt and pepper, add a little more than you think you need. I recommend using frozen squid legs because they are plump and filling, but you could easily use a whole squid instead. Fry in the sesame oil until crispy. Recipe by ne-ne

Chinese Stir-Fry with Squid and Cucumber
When the cucumber was in season... I often had this menu at my parent's house. This is my mother's signature recipe.I added a little extra to make an authentic Chinese-style? And I am working on it.- I used cuttlefish this time, but you can also use todarodes pacificus (My mother makes it using things like octopus or shrimp.)- When using a big cucumber with lots of seeds, scrape the seeds off with a spoon before using it.- Make sure not to cook both squid and cucumber too much.Add garlic if you like. For 2 to 3 servings. Recipe by rie-tin

An Izakaya Standard Stir-fried Squid
A friend of my mother's taught me this recipe. Apparently it's a standard item at izakaya.Avoid overcooking the squid! If you do, it'll become hard and dry. Turn off the heat when you think it's cooked through! You can add ponzu sauce after turning off the heat.If there's a lot of liquid in the pan, remove the squid, simmer down the liquid, and pour over the squid. Recipe by Haranouenoponyoponyo

Juicy Grilled Stuffed Squid
This is an easy grilled squid recipe that is a perfect meal with the family especially during summer. It can be paired with freshly cooked steamed rice together with an ice-cold beverage. If you have no access to a charcoal grill, you can use stove-top grill pans that are widely available. However, I suggest that you pick a cast-iron one since it can handle high heat close to a charcoal grill.Video: https://youtu.be/T3r8-PlrHWkRecipe by: HomebasedChef
