My grandmother's recipe with my little twist on it.

Ingredients

120 mins
12 servings
  1. 1 Lbbag of dry pinto beans
  2. 1/2 cupchili powder
  3. 2 Tbspminced garlic
  4. 1Lg onion chopped up
  5. 1Lg green pepper chopped up
  6. 1 Pkgsmoked ham hocks
  7. 1 Canrotel
  8. to taste Salt and pepper
  9. Enough water to cover top of ham hocks (+ 2 cups)

Cooking Instructions

120 mins

    Soak pinto beans for two hours in cold water.

    While soaking beans cook ham hocks until half way done.

  3. 3

    Add beans and rest of ingredients and stir to combine. Heat on high until it comes to a steady boil. cook on high for 5 minutes stirring occasionally.

    Reduce heat to medium low and simmer for one to one and a half hours checking for water level periodically. Add water as needed or if needed.

    Cook until beans are tender. Serve and enjoy.
