Chicken and Burdock Root Zouni (Rich with Walnut Sauce) Chicken and Burdock Root Zouni (Rich with Walnut Sauce)
I wanted to introduce people to the ozouni recipe I grew up with. The house I grew up in is in the Tsugaru region of Aomori prefecture, but I haven't seen any other recipe online for a recipe that uses walnut sauce, so it could be unique to our family. It's an ozouni soup with wild yet rich, fragrant flavors.I ground up the walnuts in a grinding bowl, but you can do this in a food processor instead. The finish should be creamy, so chop the walnuts up very very finely. The amount of walnut sauce in the sup shown in the photo is on the generous side. Please adjust the amount to taste. Ayam Bakar Kecap (Sweet Soy Sauce Grilled Chicken) Ayam Bakar Kecap (Sweet Soy Sauce Grilled Chicken)
‘Ayam Bakar’ is an Indonesian or Malaysian dish of charcoal-grilled chicken. The chicken is usually marinated with the mixture of different kinds spices such as garlic, shallot, chili pepper, tamarind juice, galangal, turmeric, ginger, bay leaf, candle nuts, and sweet soy sauce. ‘Ayam Bakar’ is usually served with ‘sambal trasi’ (Indonesian chili sauce - I’ll share the recipe in my next post 😊) and slices of cucumbers, tomatoes, and lettuce.Every region in Indonesia has their own special kind of ‘Ayam Bakar’. The one I’m posting now is a Javanese Ayam Bakar. It uses a lot of sweet soy sauce. I’ll try to share some other ‘Ayam Bakar’ recipes from the other islands next time 😊Note: In this recipe I didn’t grill the chicken using a charcoal grill. Instead I used a grill pan. You can choose which one you prefer. It will still taste yummy 😋 IG @jenscookingdiary @jenscookdineandtravel jenscookingdiary -

Stir Fried Chicken With Grainy Mustard and Soy Sauce Stir Fried Chicken With Grainy Mustard and Soy Sauce
I like chicken breast meat and grainy mustard, so I use them together often. This chicken dish is well flavored and tastes great even when cold. It has lots of vegetables too so I pack it in my husband's bentos a lot too.If you brown it a bit at the end, it will taste great. Try this recipe using thinly cut pork too. This only has 1.5g of salt per serving. Recipe by LazyHata cookpad.japan -
Chicken with Orange Sauce Chicken with Orange Sauce
I made this dish for my boyfriend. It's delicious and goes well with rice. I took the photo quickly as he was about to eat, so it's not very pretty, and the color is unfiltered. For this dish, you can use fresh orange juice, but avoid green oranges as they can turn bitter when cooked. I chose to use pure boxed orange juice for a more consistent flavor. Thành Danh NguyễnTranslated from Cookpad Vietnam -
Chicken Kelaguen With Finadene Sauce Chicken Kelaguen With Finadene Sauce
I was introduced to this unusual Guamanian dish (pronounced KILL-a-gwen) by my brother's wife, whose mother is from Guam. If you don't like the tart tanginess of lemons, which I LOVE, you can tone it down a bit by increasing the coconut milk and decreasing the lemon juice. Maggie Conlon
