Super easy , and good!
I made this for Valentine’s Day for the family, but you can use plain M&M’s or any holiday kind. This is good for any holiday or party, events, cookouts , bbq , pot lucks . I cheated and used a cookie bag mix , because I was being lazy , but I do make the cookie mix from the recipe when I have the time or the ingredients , both ways are great... and easy.

Ingredients

  1. 2 1/4 cupsall-purpose flour
  2. 1/2 tspsalt
  3. 1/2 tspbaking soda
  4. 12 Tbspbutter, melted
  5. 1 cupbrown sugar
  6. 1/2 cupwhite sugar
  7. 1large egg
  8. 1large egg yolk
  9. 2tsps vanilla extract
  10. 1 1/2 cupsM&M's, divided
  11. Chocolate chips

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 325.
    Line a 9 x13 baking pan with greased parchment paper. Set aside.

    In a medium bowl, stir together flour, salt and baking soda. Set aside.

    In a large bowl, cream together melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar.

  4. 4

    Stir in large egg and egg yolk until combined.

  5. 5

    Stir in vanilla extract.

  6. 6

    Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients, stirring just until flour is incorporated. Don't over stir.

    Add in 1 cup of m&m's, and chocolate chips fold in.

    Press dough into an even layer in prepared pan.

    Press remaining m&m's lightly on the top.

    Bake for 25-30 minutes.
    Remove from pan and let cool completely
    Cut into squares.
    Enjoy!

    Notes- I greased my parchment paper with butter-flavored shortening. This gave a beautiful, golden, crisp, buttery tasting bottom. Be sure to leave enough overhang on the parchment to make it easy to remove from the pan when done.
