Sugomori Tamago (Nested Cabbage)

I've been having this simple breakfast often lately and recommend it if you enjoy stir fried cabbage. With some sausage/beans and lively tomato, this is a great spring breakfast!

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Take two leaves of a green cabbage. Chop into thin slices.
- 2
Take a pan and heat up on med. high heat for a minute or two. Add a couple of drops of olive oil and add in the cabbage.
- 3
Stir fry the cabbage for a minute. Add a drizzle of olive oil and then salt and add white pepper to your taste. Stir fry for a couple of minute or to your liking.
- 4
Push the cabbage to the edges of your pan, in a circle shape, like a nest.
- 5
Cook the egg in the middle of the cabbage nest as you like. I scramble mine and pour it in; you can crack yours straight in. Season your egg as you like, or with black pepper and a little salt.
- 6
After adding the egg, put a lid onto your pan and steam for a minute or two if you can. Add some drops of water if necessary.
- 7
Using a spatula, take your nest out. Don't turn your heat off yet - put a few more drops of olive oil in and cook your sausage. Pre-cooked sausages should only take a minute to heat up. If you're vegan or just limit your meat intake, try heating up a third of a cup of black beans or so instead. Add this onto your plate.
- 8
Turn off your heat. Slice up your tomato cherubs or tomato slices to add on. Feel free to try something different to add on. Enjoy (^-^) !

I had half of a nagaimo yam and cabbage that had been sitting in my fridge for a long time. Basically, I could use just these ingredients for a late-night snack; it is simple and light, and is really filling! This is the perfect recipe. More than anything, I can't get enough of the fluffiness.A sign that it has finished cooking is that it will plump up all over. It is soft and fluffy when it is done cooking . It will still be soft, so please take care when transferring to a plate. The tempura flour has eggs mixed into it, so this is great for holding everything together. Our Takoyaki (Using All-Purpose Flour and Cabbage) Our Takoyaki (Using All-Purpose Flour and Cabbage)
After a lot of trial and error, this is how we make it now. Our family prefers takoyaki with cabbage. It's still good even when it cools down or without any fillings. The origin of this recipeWe received a takoyaki plate from Santa for Christmas, and after experimenting a lot, this is how it turned out. Sometimes, I feel like making it for breakfast. We've tried adding green onions, tempura bits, and even a pizza-style version, but so far, cabbage and sausage are the winners. Corn is also a nice addition. 白いエプロンのクマTranslated from Cookpad Japan -
Fluffy Kansai-style Okonomiyaki with Cabbage and Nagaimo Yam Fluffy Kansai-style Okonomiyaki with Cabbage and Nagaimo Yam
I don't know how many times I've altered recipes to make the best okonomiyaki for my husband who's a huge fan... I've changed around the amount of batter, how to cut the cabbage and what to use for seasonings...I finally settled down on this recipe, because my husband told me that this was delicious.-To keep the moisture of the cabbage from mixing with the batter, roughly julienne the cabbage into thin but short matchstick-like pieces.-Sprinkle a little salt and pepper on thinly sliced pork belly. Wipe away excess oil that seeps out from the meat with paper towels.-Cook slowly so that you can enjoy the natural sweetness of the cabbage.-Yamaimo yams make the batter too sticky, so use nagaimo yam, which contains more moisture.
