Green tea flavour is now really popular and combining with red bean is always a good choice. So I decided to make this bread. The sweetness of red bead paste is balanced by the green tea bread. Of course you can make your own shape for the bread! Please try it out!
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Mix warm water and warm milk together. Put dry yeast into the mixture and leave it for 3 mins.
- 2
Mix bread flour, wheat flour, sugar, salt and green tea powder together. Pour the milk water mixture into the dry ingredients and quickly mix well to form a dough.
- 3
Transfer the dough onto a pastry board, gather the dough together. Knead the dough by hands until less sticky. Fold in butter and knead until smooth. This process usually takes 15 mins.
- 4
Knead the dough into a ball shape, let it rest in warm place (around 40C) for 30 min or until the dough is double in size.
- 5
Divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Knead the dough into a ball and flatten out the dough. Wrap 25g of red bean paste into the dough and pinch to close. Repeat the process until you get 8 balls.
- 6
Place the dough in warm place (40C) for 30 min again. Preheat the oven to 180C.
- 7
After that, cut each dough with kitchen scissors for 5 times and you will get a flower shape dough. Repeat the process for all the dough.
- 8
Place the dough in the oven at 180C and bake for 15-17min or until golden brown.
- 9
When the bread is done, place them on the wire rack to cool completely.

Beautiful Aroma Milk Tea Bread Rolls Beautiful Aroma Milk Tea Bread Rolls
I made this for my friend who loves black tea. It's a sweet bread that's great for both snack and breakfast.Adding condensed milk in Step 1 reduces the hot milk temperature. Please follow this step and do not add condensed mild straight to the bowl.Although it will be a sticky dough at first, it will become an easy dough to work with after 5 minutes. So be patient.I used Earl Grey tea this time which has a beautiful aroma, but you can use your own favourite flavour. Recipe by caramel-cookie cookpad.japan -
Homemade Bread with Earl Grey Tea Yeast Homemade Bread with Earl Grey Tea Yeast
I didn't drink the tea that was given to me as a gift, so I turned it into yeast.I have turned caramel and fruity teas such as apple tea into yeast, but earl grey tea produces the most fragrant kind.Green tea and coffee also ferment, but the bread doesn't rise properly with those. It's difficult to ferment with just the tea leaves, so add in sugar. If the sweetness is still left after adding in the fermenting liquid, then reduce the amount of sugar a bit.The fermented tea took 10 days to come to the surface in seasons with chilly temperatures. This bread is rich with the scent of the tea and milk, so I made it to send as a gift. You can adjust the amount of tea leaves to suit your tastes, but they will soak up the moisture, so increase the amount of milk as needed if you do. If you want to bake it to a nice golden brown color all over, then it will take about 16~18 minutes (they were baked for 15 minutes in the photo). For 18 cm [7.1 in] chiffon mold. When I was going to make some tea-scented bread, I remembered that I had a lot of chestnuts simmered in their skins in syrup that I'd made before, so I added them into the bread. It smelled so nice! And the sweetness was just right! The bread was delicious! The dough is on the soft side, so if it doesn't come together after kneading it for a while, add a little bread flour, or else reduce the amount of milk tea you add. When putting the rolls on the baking sheet, leave as much space between them as possible since they will increase in volume. You can add tea leaves to the dough too.
