Ingredients

  • 10-12 strips2"×8" long Colocassia/arbi leaves
  • 1/4 cuprice flour
  • 2 Tbspwheat flour
  • 3 Tbspcurd
  • 1/2 tspginger - chilli paste
  • 1/2 tspsugar
  • 1 pinchbaking soda
  • 1 pinchasafoetida/hing
  • 1 tspsesame/ til seeds
  • to tasteSalt
  • as requiredOil for greasing
  • For filling:
  • 1/2 cupboiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1/4 cupfinely chopped and boiled mixed vegetables
  • 1 Tbsplemon juice
  • 1 Tbspgrated coconut
  • 1 Tbspchopped coriander leaves
  • 1green chilli finely chopped
  • 1/2 tspchaat masala
  • to tasteSalt

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix both type of flours, curd, chilli- ginger paste, sugar, hing, sesame seeds, salt and soda together with little water to make a smooth paste.

    Wash and pat dry the Colocassia strips.

  3. 3

    Apply the flour paste evenly on the back of the Patra strips.

  4. 4

    Mix all the ingredients for the filling with the mashed potatoes.

  5. 5

    Divide the filling mixture into 12 equal portions and make 2" long cylinder.

  6. 6

    Put one cylinder into each prepared Patra strip and roll it up. Apply oil onto the outside of the rolls.

  7. 7

    Arrange them in a circle on a dish. Cover with a butter paper.

  8. 8

    Cook in a microwave oven on high for 2 minutes. Serve hot with chutney, as a tea party snack or a cocktail snack.
