Cooking Instructions
- 1
Mix the sugar and yeast with a little warm milk and let it activate.
- 2
In a bowl, combine the flour and salt, then add the activated yeast mixture. Gradually add the warm milk and mix until you get a soft dough that slightly sticks to your hands, similar to brioche dough.
- 3
Add the butter and knead well until the butter is fully incorporated into the dough.
- 4
Cover the dough and let it rise until it doubles in size.
- 5
Divide the dough and shape it into balls of your desired size. You can make large, small, or medium balls as you prefer.
- 6
Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover, and let them rise again for 15 minutes.
- 7
Brush the tops with egg yolk mixed with a few drops of vinegar and sprinkle with sesame seeds and a little poppy seeds, or just sesame seeds if you prefer.
- 8
Bake in a preheated oven at a low temperature of 300°F (150°C) until cooked and golden brown.
- 9
Enjoy your meal.

How To Make Homemade Vegan Burger Buns How To Make Homemade Vegan Burger Buns
I have been wanting to make a full 100% vegan burger for quite some time, but I just couldn't figure out any appropriate way, sadly. I had researched and gone down the rabbit hole. Most just didn't turn out as I expected; too dense, too airy that the buns literally fell apart after slicing. Some even just use avocados as "buns". Yes! IKR?Just when I was about to give up, this recipe happened! I was messing around and thought to myself, "why not add the avocado into the dough?" The rest is history. The biggest challenge is to make a vegan "egg wash" so that the sesame seeds will adhere to the buns. "A simple syrup will do the trick", I thought to myself again. It works! I even sprinkled some extra rolled oats to sorta distinguish this from a normal burger bun. Expect more vegan burgers coming your way. Daniel Lim -

Homemade Hamburger Buns Homemade Hamburger Buns
Buns that go well with burgers are slightly sweet, soft, not very chewy and easy to bite through. This is a recipe with thought-out ingredient ratios to be used exclusively for hamburger buns. Please enjoy the buns with the patties in another recipe!I used shortening instead of butter on purpose. Please be sure to add the shortening later in the kneading process. Please be sure to use castor sugar (or superfine sugar). The oven is very hot so use thick oven mitts and be careful not to burn yourself. Recipe by Uniikura cookpad.japan
