Ingredients

  • 1/2 CupDal
  • 1/2 CupCoconut Milk
  • 1Tomato (chopped)
  • 2Green Chilies (chopped)
  • 2Dried Chilies
  • Fewcurry leaves
  • 3Garlic (chopped)
  • 1Small Onion (chopped)
  • 1 tspCumin
  • 1 tspBlack Pepper
  • 1 tspMustard Seeds
  • as requiredOil
  • as per tasteSalt
  • PinchHing
  • as requiredWater

Steps

  1. 1

    Pressure cook dal with tomato, heat a frying pan add cumin and black pepper just toast and grind coarsely

    Heat pan-fry mustard with Curry Leaves, dry Chilli, add garlic, onion and saute well.

    Add the rasam powder, give it a stir add dal and Coconut milk, tamarind water, give it a good stir and let it boil then off the heat and serve with rice.
