Very Lemony, with no refined sugar!
I LOVE a Chinese Takeaway but when it's suggested I cringe at the thought of it. The sauces are generally packed with sugar. So, I decided to make some Chinese recipes that do not contain any refined sugar.

I LOVE a Chinese Takeaway but when it's suggested I cringe at the thought of it. The sauces are generally packed with sugar. So, I decided to make some Chinese recipes that do not contain any refined sugar.
Steps

Gently fry Chicken and Spring Onions in Oil

Add Garlic, Stock, Lemon Zest, Lemon Juice, Soy Sauce, Vinegar & Maple Syrup (or sweetener of choice)

Simmer on low heat for 5-10 mins.

Mix together Cold Water and Cornflour, then add to simmering pan. Stir and remove from heat when thickened.

Add Pepper to taste.

Stir in a knob of butter to add shine.

Serve with Rice or Noodles of choice (I always opt for Brown Rice varieties)

For future recipes,you can adjust lemon, soy, syrup, pepper etc. according to your own taste!

I don't eat sugar if I can help it but if eating sugar doesn't bother you, you can replace the Maple Syrup with around 200g sugar
