Mix the eggs with the sugar and beat until the mixture is light and frothy with a pale color.

Add the lemon zest and ground almonds, mix everything well, and pour the batter into the prepared pan.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Check occasionally, as baking time may vary depending on your oven. Insert a toothpick into the center; if it comes out clean, the cake is done. Decorate with powdered sugar and serve.
