This bonda is found in all small tea shops across Tamil Nadu. Best had with a hot cup of tea on a rainy day.
Steps
- 1
Chop 3 onions lengthwise and transfer to a vessel and separate the onions with hands. Add all the ingredients except besan flour and rice flour and mix well with hands.
- 2
Now add besan flour and rice flour and mix well. Add little water if everything doesn't mix well. Onion by itself will leave some water so don't add water in the beginning. Add only when needed.
- 3
Make medium sized balls. Do not press too tight which will make cooking process difficult.
- 4
Heat oil in a kadai and put the balls and fry on medium flame otherwise the inside will not be cooked properly. Remove when it's golden brown
- 5
Serve as an evening snack with a hot cup of tea or coffee.
