This dish reminds me of my childhood, when my mom would cook it. I used to come home from school excited to see what she would make that day.

Boil the chicken until it is tender.

Blend all the tomatoes, onion, garlic, and a small amount of masa. Don’t add too much masa or the mixture will get too thick.

Mix the remaining masa with a little oil and salt. Knead well, form small balls, and press your finger in the center to make a small bowl shape.

Add the blended mixture and the masa dumplings to the pot with the chicken.

Stir constantly to prevent sticking. Cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes.
