During the harvest festival in Tamil Nadu this dessert is made in all our homes. It's also a popular prasadham given in temples. I enjoy this dessert at anytime of the day since childhood.

Add 4 tbsp ghee in a pressure cooker and fry cashews. Remove and set aside. Now add raisins and remove them when it bulges. Set aside.

Roast moong dhal till the raw smell disappears and add rice along with it. Pour 4 cups water, add a pinch of salt and cook for 4-5 whistles.

Take jaggery in a separate vessel, add 1/2 cup water and boil till it has a syrup consistency. Strain the syrup to remove any impurities.

Once pressure releases pour milk and jaggery syrup. Mix well.

Add the fried cashews and rasins along with nutmeg powder. Mix everything and drizzle the remaining 2 tbspn ghee over it and mix.
