Plain Yogurt
This is a recipe I make very often because it's so easy. You can add fruit or jam to it.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Heat the milk in a pan (it should reach 140°F; if you don't have a thermometer like me, check with your finger—if you can hold it for 10 seconds, it's ready). Be careful, it shouldn't be lukewarm or boiling. While waiting for it to heat, stir with a spoon to prevent sticking, and if you want to add sugar, now is the time.
- 2
Once it reaches the right temperature, turn off the heat and add the plain yogurt, mixing well.
- 3
I use the yogurt cup as a measure; before it's finished, I fill it with the yogurt I made and use it to make more.
- 4
Finally (once mixed), place it in a glass or plastic container. Put it in a warm place, like the oven, covered with some cloths.
- 5
I leave it for two days.
- 6
After two days, mix it and put it in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

When I got my new oven I found this recipe when I was reading on the oven cleaning directions. We used to have a yogurt maker as kids but is no hassle to use the oven instead. I start it in the morning. And before bedtime the yogurts are already cooling in the fridge. I use them up within a week. almu21 -
Simple Yogurt Ice Cream Simple Yogurt Ice Cream
I've been making this dish for a long time to use up heavy cream, yogurt, and jam.I used homemade orange jam.Enjoy with strawberry jam, apple jam, or any type of jam.The sweetness of the jam differs depending on the brand, so adjust the flavor after tasting. When it's frozen, it's hard to taste the sweetness. If you want to make it sweet, add slightly more jam. You might think it's too much at that time, but it will taste perfect once it's frozen. Of course, you can also reduce the sweetness. Recipe by Ayako cookpad.japan -
