Ingredients

25 minutes
5 servings
  • 1 1/2 cupsBlack gram or Urad Daal
  • 1 tspSalt or to taste
  • 3-4Green Chillies finely chopped
  • 2 tspGinger garlic paste
  • 1/4 cupCoriander Leaves finely chopped
  • 2Onions thinly sliced

Steps

25 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash and soak dal for atleast 4 hours. Boil it with enough water and a little salt until done.

  2. 2

    Dal should be firm yet soft. It should not be too soft or mushy. In a pan, heat ghee and saute sliced onions along with ginger garlic paste, green chilies, and coriander leaves.

  3. 3

    Saute until the onions turn translucent. Add this to the cooked dal. Mix well and serve hot with chapatis.
