Wash tuvar daal. And boil it. Drain it's water and save for later use. Wash and soak rice for 10 mins. Heat oil and temper adding mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves. Saute well. Now add chopped onion and saute untill it's golden in colour.

Now add wheat flour and roast well. Then add all the powdered masalas, green chilli and ginger garlic paste.

Add a cup of water and cook everything well. When the oil starts separating from masala. Now add the water in which tuvar daal was boiled. Add dry raw mango slices for tangy taste.

Keep the flame on low and simmer khatta for 5 to 10 mins. Add mint leaves and coriander leaves.

In pressure cooker, add 2 tsp oil and 1 sliced onion and cumin seeds. Saute for a while add green chillies and salt to taste.

Add turmeric powder and cook for a while then add the boiled tuvar daal.

Now add rice and pour enough water. Let it boil and cover the lid. After 1 boil keep the flame on slow cook for 5 to 7 minutes. It's ready. Serve hot
