A traditional North Indian dessert very popular in UP, my family loves Rabri & especially the one which the Halwais of Vrindavan make & served chilled . Once on our visit to Vrindavan i had this curiosity of how they prepare the Rabri the traditional way, So asked this Halwai of a sweet shop he said we need a lot of patience to prepare Rabri because the milk has to be continuously simmered on high and low flame till it reduces to half in quantity and it gets a creamy texture !! #new

Ingredients

3 Hours
4 Servings
  • 4 tablespoonssugar
  • 1 LitreFull Fat Milk
  • 5 TablespoonsMilk powder
  • As required Chopped Almonds & Rasins
  • Few strandsSaffron
  • 1/2 tspCardamom Powder
  • 1/2 tspNutmeg Powder

Steps

3 Hours
  1. 1

    Boil the milk & lower the flame & keep boiling till the milk becomes half in quantity but make sure you keep stirring it.

  2. 2

    Add milk powder & keep stirring.

  3. 3

    Add saffron strands.

  4. 4

    Add cardamom powder to it.

  5. 5

    Then again reduce the flame & let it boil till milk does not come to thick & creamy texture.

  6. 6

    Now when it's done add sugar & the chopped almonds & raisins.

  7. 7

    Ready to serve.
