Steps

Heat 1 tbsp of oil/ ghee / butter in a kadhai and to it add cumin seeds. Allow the seeds to crackle.

Then add all the ingredients listed under "Whole spices" and allow it to roast on low flame for about 30 seconds.

To it add the onion paste and cook for about 2 minutes till the raw smell goes on low flame.

Then add ginger garlic paste to the kadhai and let the ingredients cook till the raw smell goes. This step takes about a minute.

To it add pureed tomatoes and let the contents cook for about 20 minutes till the oil floats over the tomatoes. Cover and cook on low flame.

After 20 minutes check if the ingredients are cooked and then add 1 tbsp of water. To it ass kasuri methi and stir and let it cook.

To the tomatoes add all the ingredients listed under "Spice powders" and then roast it for about 2 minutes.

Add chopped capsicums and allow the mixture to cool for about 7 minutes.

After the capsicum is cooked add cream / milk and lemon juice. Stir and cook the contents for about 5 minutes.

To it add salt and paneer and cover and cook for about 6 minutes on low flame.

Turn off the flame and garnish it with slit chilli, green coriander and some ghee.

Serve it hot with roti / naan / parantha.
