Line 12 cupcakes tins with cupcake holders

Put the butter and sugar in a bowl and beat till pale and fluffy

Slowly add in the eggs one at a time mixing well after each

Add the vanilla extract and beat briefly to combine

Gently fold in the four and baking powder

Then add in milk so the batter is easier to stir

Divide between the cases
