Ingredients

  • ForChutney:-
  • 1/4 cupfresh coconut
  • 3 tbsprassam powder
  • 2 tbspdalia
  • 3-4green chillies
  • 1 pcginger
  • 4-6dry red chillies
  • 2 tspcumin seeds
  • As per taste salt
  • 1/4 tsphing
  • ForTadka:
  • 1/2 tbspOil
  • 1 tspmustard seeds
  • 2 tspurad dal
  • 1/4 tsphing
  • Few curry leaves
  • 1 tspred chilli powder
  • ForFinal preparation:
  • 4-5 cupswater
  • 1lemon juice or 1tbsp tamarind pulp
  • Handful coriander leaves

Steps

  1. 1

    First dry grind all the chutney items in a mixer jar.

  2. 2

    Then add little water and grind it in a smooth paste.

  3. 3

    Transfer it to a big pan.

  4. 4

    Add 3-4cup water and keep it for boil on a medium flame.

  5. 5

    Heat a tadka pan, add oil

  6. 6

    Add all the tadka ingredients and sauté them for 2-3 mins.

  7. 7

    Pour the tadka to boiling rassam chutney.

  8. 8

    Add lemon juice/tamarind pulp & mix well.

  9. 9

    Add more water if required and boil it again.

  10. 10

    Garnish with coriander leaves.

  11. 11

    Serve with idli, dosa or rice.
