Steps
- 1
Mix plain flour, salt and ghee very well so that the flour texture resembles to bread crumbs. Now start adding water little by little and make a hard dough out of it. Cover it and keep it for 10 minutes. Divide the dough into three equal portions.
- 2
Now take one portion and roll it in a thick circle. Now cut the edges and make a square or rectangle out of it and cut it into desired shape. Prepare all the shakkarpara in the same way. Collect edges and roll it again and make pieces out of it too.
- 3
Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Now fry shakkarpara light pink in colour on low to medium heat. Fry all shakkarpara in the same way and let it cool down at room temperature.
- 4
While the shakkarpara are cooling down, add water and sugar in a pot. Heat it on medium heat and make one string consistency sugar syrup out of it. Let it become warm before using it.
- 5
Now add shakkarpara to the prepared sugar syrup and leave it for 5 to 7 minutes so that they are coated well with the syrup.
- 6
Store prepared shakkarpara in an airtight container. This shakkarpara can be stored up to one month.
